Painted Hills - One of the 7 Natural wonders of Oregon

 After all 2020 pandemonium,  the word travelling wasn't as exciting as before but was filled with fear of covid. With the mind oscillating between "lets go out" and  "no, what if's..." we finally decided to go for 2 day trip. The fact that we were vaccinated and cases were decreasing was a ray of hope!. Painted Hills was one of the place in our bucket list which is 350 miles from Redmond.  Below is the itinerary: Day 1:  Home to Smith Rock State Park, Sparks Lake and then to Hotel in Prinevelle Day 2: John Day Fossil Beds National Monument (Painted Hills, Sheep Rock Unit & Clarno Unit) Both these places are natural wonders and were formed million years ago as a result of volcanic eruption and lava flow which got hardened eventually!!. Peace Arch Historical State Park - U.S Canada Border - Deception Pass Camping, Apr 17 2021

 Peace Arch Historical State Park is located on boundary between U.S and Canada border. Its the nearest Canada border from Washington which is just 2 hrs. drive from Redmond. On the way you can also cover Deception Pass state Park and also Tulip fields if you are travelling during April month.  It was a 2 day trip as we decided to do camping in Deception Pass State Park on the way back. Below are the places we covered: Day 1 : Peace Arch Historical State Park, Mt. Eerie and campground Day 2 : Tulip fields and then  drove back to Home. Since it was just 2 hrs. drive we started around 11 in the morning and we had one more family along with us  in this journey. We reached the border at 2 pm.
