Peace Arch Historical State Park - U.S Canada Border - Deception Pass Camping, Apr 17 2021

Peace Arch Historical State Park is located on boundary between U.S and Canada border. Its the nearest Canada border from Washington which is just 2 hrs. drive from Redmond. On the way you can also cover Deception Pass state Park and also Tulip fields if you are travelling during April month.

It was a 2 day trip as we decided to do camping in Deception Pass State Park on the way back. Below are the places we covered:

Day 1 : Peace Arch Historical State Park, Mt. Eerie and campground

Day 2 : Tulip fields and then  drove back to Home.

Since it was just 2 hrs. drive we started around 11 in the morning and we had one more family along with us  in this journey. We reached the border at 2 pm. We had lunch as soon as we reached there and then started walking towards the park. Its a vast area full of green grass fields, yellow wildflowers and beautiful garden making it more attractive. The special feature of this park is that this park extends from Washington to Canada and there is no gate or fence kind of barriers between the two  borders here!. The first time we visited we didn't realize and had roamed over the park that was a part of  Canada!!. The main attraction here is 64 foot concrete arch that was built to honor peace between two countries.

After spending some time there at around 4 pm we started driving towards Mt. Eerie which was on the way to our campground. Yo can drive till the top here and the view from there is just amazing!!!.

It was pretty cool there, we relaxed there for an hour and continued towards campground in Deception Pass State Park, Oak Harbor. We reached campsite past 7 pm, so before getting dark we thought we will set up our tent first. After that there is a small trail to Beach and already people were rushing towards the beach to watch sunset!. We also started walking towards the beach. The sky was turning orange and sun was all ready to bid goodbye for that day!.

It was 8pm, we went to the campsite and grilled few veggies, had dinner and ended our day. It was very cold in the night, good that we had sleeping bag and comforters.

It was 9 am when we woke up. After having breakfast we went to the beach again, played in the water, captured few moments in our camera and resumed our journey to Home. On the way we stopped near some Tulip fields which were road side as we didn't reserve for Roozengarde Tulip Festival. We had already been there 3 times so we skipped it this time. We drove Young Rd and Bradshaw Rd which are near to Roozengarde where you can find small Tulip and daffodil fields and you don't need any reservation. We clicked some beautiful photos and headed towards our nest.

Altogether It was wonderful experience camping in the mid of the forest, enjoying nature, spending some quality with family and friends and most importantly far from our mobile phones and social media !!!. We have camped multiple times yet every time its a different experience, creating new memories for future!.
